Mr. Allen and I were talking and there is a possibility if I am not there in person tomorrow (Thursday) that we may have a video chat class! This would be great! Make sure to say thank you to him for this idea!I really appreciate your patience with this.

Here is the assignment: The leading questions that I would ask you if we had a class discussion:

Canto 16-Responses should be 3-7 sentences each

1) What do you believe the purpose to be in Dante's inclusion of people that he admires or knows within certain aspects of Hell? ie Jacopo and Tegghaio.
2) Which group of Circle 7 is prevalent in this canto? How did you determine this?
3) How does Virgil asking Dante for the cord exemplify a different level of their relationship? Explain how it is different.
4) Descriptive imagery lines the text of the Inferno, describe the horrible creature toward the end of the canto. Take direct text in doing so.

Canto 17- Responses should be 3-7 sentences each

1) Who is Geryon and how does Geryon fit into Dante and Virgil's adventure?
2) Remind me again, who are the usurers? How are they punished? (Note there is more details that you should include from this canto)
3) What is the reason for the usurers present condition?
4) Where is the next destination for Dante and Virgil?
5) Why is Geryon referred to as the beast who makes the whole world stink? (p 149)
6) Make a prediction: what do you believe will happen in the 8th circle?
